Praise for Maggie & Minotaur
Another great book by this author. Maggie & Minotaur is a conflict-filled journey to the earlier days of Australia's colonisation. A time when racism and classism were rampant. This book uses historically accurate and yet, very confrontational language, especially around the issue of race, words we don't use in polite society these days. It paints an accurate - if unflattering - picture of early life in Australia. All that aside, however, this book takes you into the home and lives of a very culturally diverse society trying to come to terms with the changing expectations of the time, woven through with wonderful characters, loving relationships and the ever-present grace of God. Olwyn Harris knows how to tell a story and this book is no exception!
